For the seventh year, the companies Arfai and Jomazé shared the same booth in Frankfurt to present the companies’ new joint collection, where black and white were the main characters and glass the novelty element.
Connection’16 was the name of this collection that gathered a selection of 100 ceramic pieces, developed around the same main concept – the color – and all focusing the same common goal: to present something diverse and complete, that would delight different tastes and purposes.
And so, the participation in the Fair resulted in one big exhibition table, with pieces in shades of black and white, and two other smaller tables: one in tones of green/blue, for a vernal option, and one third table in yellow shades, thinking in those who seek a trendier and bolder decorative option.
In the three tables, the finishing of each item implied the use of different decorations techniques: glazing using regular, reactive or oxide glazes, lusters application, hand painting, materials conjugation and many others. A wide range of options that allow a higher differentiation in each piece’s final appearance, only possible thanks to the companies know-how and long experience.
Besides the color, the glass. In the latest years, each new collection brings an innovation in terms of materials mix: from the (now common) cork, to the use of wood, iron and also leather, this year, the main innovation was the use of glass, which, as the ceramics clay, is a strong material with history and tradition.
