Located in Alcobaça, western part of Portugal, Arfai works for more than 25 years as ceramics manufacturers, supplying international brands from all over the world.

2020. Transforming Ideas into Reality

The 25th anniversary of Arfai marks a new step in the company’s strategy. Now, more modernized than ever, have been invested in new work methods to have more productivity, be more sustainable and environmentally concerned, with showing better results for the customer and increase the value of all the ones that make ARFAI CERAMICS PORTUGAL what is it.

2015. ALL ABOUT COMMITMENT

Within Arfai’s 20th anniversary, a new marketing strategy is implemented, aiming to improve and modernize the company’s positioning to promote a better Arfai.

2013/2014. Hard work and Recognition

Arfai is distinguished with a “SUPPLIER AWARD”, awarded by Danish home accessories brand, Kähler Design, to whom Arfai produces within private label terms, as a recognition of the companies’ skills, hard work and commitment.

2010. Together and stronger – investing in business cooperation

Arfai establishes a strategic partnership with Jomazé, experienced supplier from the business, gaining scale in the international markets both companies operate and obtaining this way a more complete and flexible offer – in product design and also in production capacity. As a result of the partnership, Home Living Ceramics, exclusive brand project was born two years later, targeting luxury market.

2008. Modern factory, efficient production

This year the company initiated an investment plan that aimed to improve the factory’s production structure, making it more capable, efficient and flexible with the acquisition of necessary machinery that would make the production faster and more profitable.

2005. Assuming a social commitment

The company was rewarded with the “Merit Award”, assigned by the Employment and Vocational Training Institute, due to the integration of disabled workers.  A milestone in the company’s social aware attitude.

2002. Quality and Design for competitiveness

This year marked the beginning of a new period, where design, quality and innovation were the guiding lines of a new competitive approach, that aimed to avoid the price competition brought with the entrance of new low-cost players.

1995. From traders to manufacturers

Arfai initiated its activity as decorative ceramics producer, a decision that intended to allow a complete control of the process behind the ceramic goods commercialized – from production to sale.

1992. The foundation years

The company was founded, being dedicated to the trade of ceramics items, acquired in local factories working at that time, that were then exported to the European market.
