In the production of ceramics, manual decoration brings an important value to the richness of each piece, making it unique, without equal.
With industrial ceramics losing protagonism and artisanal ceramics gaining stage, manual techniques have more than ever an important weight in our production.

With more than 25 years of experience, we are proud to have a talented and experienced team of ceramic painters and decorators, who use the most varied techniques to turn each piece into a work of art.

HAND TECHNIQUE WITH SPONGE
The sponge is just one of many seemingly basic and mundane elements used in production that allow us to create out of the box decorations, such as patterns.

BRUSHES, ALMOST INFINITE
And each one allows us to create different effects. From vertical painting, to the splash effect, there are many techniques that can be used. The brushes used always depend on the effect and intensity we want to bring to the decoration.

HAND PAINTING
Having a steady hand is one of the secrets to achieving a good hand painting, but creativity and experience also play an important role in this technique.
The manual painting allows us to combine the tradition of Portuguese ceramics with innovative and contemporary designs and production techniques.

DECAL
Decal is one of the oldest techniques in ceramic decoration. It gives us the possibility to print on the piece almost any illustration or design we want, giving greater creative flexibility. The decal sheet is applied directly to the piece and through a process of heat, in the kiln, is transferred to the ceramic itself.

Besides the already known techniques, at Arfai we like to be constantly challenged with new projects, which put our creativity and creation capacity to the test.
