A long period of research on the main international lifestyle trends to gather the hottest selection of ceramics for the home has taken Arfai team of designers into a mixture of references that gave birth to the brand new BETWEEN COLLECTION, a collection that brings past and future together into the same room. 
The advent of new technologies promising a better future, the geopolitical shifts undermining peace, the global warming threatening the earth – world consumers are facing complex social phenomena that are generating a shared unstable state of mind without precedents. What has this to do with home decoration?

A dialogue between past and future

In this background, today’s citizen is then either living in excitement about tomorrow’s brave new world, either anxious and fearful about the unknown future, willing to go back to those old sweet days in grandma’s house. A dynamic that is being brought indoors, with the creation of interiors where past and future merge together.

BETWEEN approaches this duality with two main stories: Chromatic Future and Coloured Memory; each one gathering a selection of designs where texture, shape, but mainly colour play a key role to bring past and future into the same living spaces.

COULOURED MEMORY: HIGHLIGHTS

Here, find a revival of the grandma´s house imaginary through the use of pigmented ochres, moody maroons, and other vibrant dark shades. In this story, Arfai ceramics’ are mostly decorated in a deep palette of colours, explored in a combination of both glossy finishes and reactive glazes, all together to invite the memories of the past.

CHROMATIC FUTURE: HIGHLIGHTS

This story, in its turn, aims to transport traditional hues into the future through a handful of matte finishes, opaque colour combos, and soft gradients. Pieces decorated with simple and subtle effects that by evoking plasticity, offer a sort of superficial contemporaneity to any interior.

Eclectic interiors where the old becomes modern
