Season’s Picks: Home Tasting like Summer

Summer is out there (finally!!). Nothing better than more hours of daylight, warm sunrises, orange sunsets – a whole soulful summer breeze that makes life to seem so easy (as Ella Fritzgerald says). If our closets need be adjusted to this time of the year, we believe our homes deserve a treat as well: so, let’s bring summer indoors. And how to do it without spending much time and money? With accessories. They are the best choice to quickly make small, but determinant changes at home.

Just get inspired with our suggestions below.

OCEAN BLUE

What’s more summery than the beach? Sea blue is a rich summer reference by itself that offers a wide palette of color options: deep blue, light blue, greenish blue and so much more. All conjugated with white bases in order to bring the sea air indoors.

Azul Oceano

EXOTIC FRUIT

Another cliché we cannot avoid: yellow and all the tones that, as orange or pink, pair so nicely with this joyful pineapple-like color. Choose your favorite color combo, pick a set of different sized vases and bring the summer flavor of a fruits salad to your living room or to your outdoor space to prepare a barbecue with friends.

FRUITY

TROPICAL ISLAND

First find the right leaves (as bigger as better), then mix them with deep-green details and finally, consider using some leaves patterns and prints, for example in pillows, curtains and wall art. Although this is a falling trend that led last years’ summer stories, it is always a good safe choice to have an exotic tropical island touch at home if your intention is to evoke summer.

LINEN GENTLENESS

If the suggestion above is a falling trend, this one is the top trend of the season: linen. Fresh, natural and light this fabric is the summer textile per excellence and our suggestion is to use it indoors by conjugating linen home textiles, as pillows, blankets, and curtains, with ceramics that explore the texture and tones of this materials, as ivory, ecru, tan or grey.

WARM TERRACOTA

How many colors does the heat have?  Recreate a desert atmosphere or a Mediterranean terrazzo by mixing pieces in warm tones of terracotta, pink and apricot. Colors that seem to be faded by the sun, offering an always-summer feeling and that will leave your house simply in-vogue.
